Light rain is mainly falling in areas of West of I-65. With the drier area East of I-65, the rain is going to a have a tough time spreading eastward. Skies will remain cloudy over the next 48 hours. We will likely have some clearing by Thursday afternoon. Rainfall totals will most likely remain less than 1" over the next several days. The heaviest rainfall Wednesday will likely be from the Gulf Coast to the I-20 corridor. No severe weather is expected. A strong cold front will move through the region Thursday with the return of some sunshine. Expect the coldest air so far this season behind the front. The 540 thickness line is expected to dip south of I-20.
