Our winds out of the east have brought more humid air into Alabama. Dewpoints have made it into the upper 60s. With today's heat reaching about 95-degrees under partly cloudy skies, we have a 10-percent chance of showers this afternoon. Partly Cloudy skies will likely be with us through Friday. Highs remain in the mid 90s...lows near 70.
We are watching a low in the Gulf that could bring us an increased chance of showers this weekend. Our VIPIR model shows us doing that very thing, with the low moving into south Alabama. However, other computer forecast models disagree with this scenario...taking the low further west toward southern Texas. Regardless, I am including a 20-to-30 percent chance of rain in the forecast throughout Labor Day Weekend.
