The weather was great for hitting the road today. Fox 6 weather intern Isaac Williams and myself traveled to Hayden Middle School and spoke with the 6th graders. It was nice drive up I-65 and Highway 160 to Hayden.
Mrs. Hicks gave us some cupcakes she made herself. They were great as you can see from Isaac's hand in the shot. We had both red velvet and pumpkin spice. A wonderful homemade surprise. Thank you so much.
Mrs. Daley who teaches 6th grade invited us to the school. I actually ran into Mrs. Daley at the National Weather Association teacher's workshop a few weeks ago. With the rain gauge we provided Hayden Middle School, the location will become an official CoCoRahs precipitation reporting site.
Later this week - we'll be at Chilton Christian Academy and Fultondale Elementary.
