We started off the day on a foggy note and now great visibility has returned to all of Alabama. The sky will be clear today and tonight, with more autumn temperatures. Look for highs in the mid 60s today, with lows in the 40s tonight. Temperatures will tumble after sunset so if you’re going to the college football games in the area have a jacket handy. We may wake up to some more patchy fog tomorrow. Otherwise, our Sunday should be a nice day, with highs in the 60s. We will be in a slow warming trend over the next few days, with highs in the low to mid 70s for the start of next week. Notice the strong surface high to the northeast of our area on the included surface map. The easterly flow resulting from this feature may cause some clouds to drift into our eastern communities.
Showers and thunderstorms will be possible late Wednesday, Wednesday night, and early Thursday. The most unstable region of this next system should be located north of our area so we anticipate a low threat for severe weather at this time. That said, we will continue to monitor the next system for any threat of strong thunderstorms. The rain should move out of the area on Thursday, with sunshine returning by midday on Friday. We will experience another cool down just in time for next weekend, with highs in the low to mid 60s. Have a great Saturday!
