One of the best tools we have to help us observe and forecast weather is the visible satellite image. These are visible images because they utilize the visible part of the spectrum. We wanted to share this visible satellite image over the Midwest and Ohio Valley. A lot of what you see here is snow cover made visible by the reflected light. Thankfully, we are able to loop these types of images and that helps us differentiate between clouds and snow.
