We're trying to get a grasp on the best chances for severe storms this afternoon and this evening. Based on satellite imagery, radar trends, and analysis - I think Lamar, Marion, and Winston counties will be impacted with high winds and possibly tornadic weather within the next 1-2 hours. The Tornado Watch issued today for North Alabama will continue through 9pm.
If you look at the red line from the Significant Tornado Parameter - the bullseye includes Northwest Alabama.
The Energy Helicity index is showing a similar picture this afternoon.
For the rest of the Fox 6 viewing area - the primary issue will be damaging winds over 60mph. This threat will continue through 9pm.
