I wanted to share this amazing image captured by SOHO (the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory). This shows comet SWAN in the lower left moving towards the suns atmosphere. The comet ultimately plunged into the suns atmosphere and dissipated. You can see a full animation of Comet SWAN diving into the sun here: COMET SWAN
