It looks like the system off of the Carolina coast is becoming better organized. The NHC is now forecasting a 50% chance that a tropical cyclone will develop over the next 48 hours. This system could become the first tropical depression or tropical storm of 2012. The first name on the 2012 list is "Alberto." I've also included the latest model forecast plots for this system now being called Investigation-93. This system is expected to slowly shift west-southwest over the next 24 hours.
