Check out these awesome pics of a Roll Cloud that was seen over East Texas yesterday. You may hear us often refer to this type of cloud as a Shelf Cloud. This picture gallery was created by our sister station KLTV in the Tyler and Long View areas.
On stormy days you can see this type of cloud structure in our area, often associated with thunderstorm outflow or gust fronts. These are caused by warmer air being forced over cooler air. In fact, there could be a similar cloud structure associated with the storms in Alabama today.
