A weak frontal boundary is moving through north Alabama this morning. We have been dealing with some patchy fog in isolated areas that experienced overnight rainfall. Once the fog burns off, we will likely begin the day with lots of sunshine, becoming partly cloudy this afernoon. There is enough instability to bring about an isolated shower or storm this afternoon. But today's rain chances stand at only about 10-to-20 percent.
Thursday evening into Friday morning is the time period where we could see another round of rain and potentially strong storms. At this point the main threat would include strong to damaging winds and hail. There is a very low chance of seeing tornadoes with this system. By Friday afternoon, clouds should begin to clear and afternoon highs will likely only make it into the low 80s.
This weekend looks fantastic. Clear to partly cloudy skies with...morning temps in the 50s to low 60s...highs in the 80s.
Scattered showers are back in the forecast as we head into our new workweek.
