( Storm Prediction Center Forecast Graphic)
Its midnight and the strong thunderstorms to our north have made little progress southward. We are noticing the severe thunderstorm warnings are trending further southward into Colbert and Franklin counties. The National Weather Service Office in Huntsville shared a report of downed trees and power lines in parts of Colbert County.
The slow moving thunderstorms have set the stage for possible flash flooding over far northern Alabama and parts of Tennessee. This line is expected to make a slow push southward throughout the rest of the morning. VIPIR suggests the stronger storms could impact northern Marion and Cullman Counties by 1:15 AM.
