I've been looking real hard for a reason to put rain in the forecast. I may have found one. Forecast models have been hinting for a few days at the possibility of a few showers on Friday. There is a slow-moving front that is expected to sag across the Northern portion of Alabama. I'm not convinced we will see widespread rain, but a few showers are possible during the afternoon. This is mainly for areas North of I-20. The VIPIR model has been hinting at this rain for a few days. If you have travel plans to Huntsville or parts of Tennessee you might see a little rain and perhaps a few thunderstorms.
I'm still up in the air a bit on the forecast for South Alabama including the beaches. I'm thinking showers and storms are possible on Friday, but the weekend at this point looks fairly dry. Models continue to bring some showers and thunderstorms to Florida Saturday and Sunday.
Heading into next week, I'm looking at our forecast to stay fairly dry here in Alabama. Highs will remains in the lower 90s. Brace yourself for a long and hot Summer!
Have a great evening!
