Temperatures have soared into the mid 80s this afternoon with scattered clouds across the state. It appears clouds are going to be on the decrease over the next several days.
We have noticed a slight decrease in dewpoints making for more comfortable weather across the area. North of I-20 – dewpoint temperatures are already down around 50 degrees. We’ll head toward the weekend with warmer temperatures. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s over the next several days. We may even have temperatures in the 90s Saturday.
We will likely have enough moisture and instability to give us a good chance of afternoon “Summertime” showers and storms both on Saturday and Sunday. I’d lean toward Sunday as being the wetter of the two days.
Temperatures this week are slightly below average. I’m still looking at warmer temperatures in the forecast for the Summer. The Climate Prediction Center is showing above average temperatures in their three month outlook.
Meanwhile in Okalahoma - the forecast is not looking good for the NCAA Softball Championship where Alabama is playing Oklahoma. A low continues to spin producing heavy rain and thunderstorms.
These storms will continue through tomorrow with a break in the rain in Oklahoma Friday. We'll get our taste of this system late weekend.
Have a great evening!
