Our ridge of high pressure is giving us another partly cloudy forecast for today. Look for highs to again be near seasonal averages, in the mid to upper 80s.
An upper level low developing off the Texas/Louisiana Gulf coast looks like it will begin moving toward Alabama on Saturday as our high pressure ridge begins shifting to the east. That will allow showers and thunderstorms to begin developing in our southwestern counties. Complete coverage of the state by rain and thunderstorms is possible by Saturday night into Sunday.
This looks to be a rather stagnant system, bringing much needed rainfall to the state. South Alabama could see as much as 5-inches of rainfall by the end of next week...the state's northern counties could receive up to 3-to-4 inches.
If you have a "honey do list" I would recommend getting it done this afternoon or Saturday morning. Rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast Saturday evening through next Thursday.
