Rain and a few thunderstorms will be scattered across Alabama and tonight as a cold front slowly slips to the south through the state. The good news? No severe weather is expected, although a few isolated thunderstorms could contain small hail, gusty winds, and lightning.
The storms we had this morning brought some much needed rainfall to the state. Here are some area rainfall totals since midnight:
- Birmingham: 0.84"
- Tuscaloosa: 0.47"
- Gadsden: 0.90"
- Anniston 1.21"
Rainfall amounts will be less than an inch in most locations this afternoon and tonight, although a few areas could see isolated totals above that.
The forecast for the remainder of the week remains on track: scattered showers and thunderstorms ending late Tuesday and early Wednesday morning, followed by clear skies and warm temperatures the remainder of the week.
