Yesterday it was Atlanta getting hit hard with strong to severe storms. Today it's East Alabama. Storms are firing this afternoon along what we call a "backdoor" cool front. This is a front that approaches from the east. It's actually cooler in Atlanta than Anniston right now. We'll continue to see strong to severe storms through 6pm in Cherokee, Etowah, Calhoun, and Talladega Counties.
The main threat will be hail, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall. We could also see some small hail and frequent lightning. Stay weather alert through 6pm if you live in East Alabama.
