Upper 90-degree heat will likely be in store for most of us this afternoon. Some west Alabama communities could reach 100-degrees today.
We still have a trough extending from east central Alabama into Georgia and the Carolinas. This will again be the focal point for showers and thunderstorms today.
Isolated heat activated showers will be possible for the rest of us.
Look for upper 90s to low triple digits for highs through Friday.
This weekend into the middle of next week, highs are expected to drop into the mid 90s. A 20-to-30 percent chance of showers remains in the forecast each day through Wednesday of next week.
