After dealing with some patchy dense fog this morning, look for mostly cloudy skies today with a chance of showers. Computer forecasting models are not showing as much widespread rain coverage as we saw in our area yesterday.
Due to the extensive cloud cover, we may not see enough daytime heating to bring about as many heat activated showers today. We are still anticipating isolated rain showers and thunderstorms however that could bring about heavy rainfall in some areas.
On Friday a cold front will push our way out of the north bringing about a more organized chance of rain and storms for north and central Alabama.
This frontal system now appears to be moving a little faster than previous models, which means Saturday and Sunday could see less rain, as the front will be to our south by then. This same front is expected to stall into south Alabama Saturday and slowly begin retreating northward on Sunday. However, additional showers accompanying the front are not expected until Monday.
By Tuesday through the rest of next week the above front washes out leaving less humid conditions and only an isolated chance of showers and storms.
