You can expect morning sunshine for today, with increasing clouds by lunchtime. Highs will be reaching the lower 90s, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The chance for rain will linger during the evening hours, with lows in the 70s.
Currently our weather is being influenced by an upper level ridge to our east. This is helping to bring more sunshine and fewer thunderstorms. This feature will have the biggest impact on our forecast tomorrow and Monday. Each day we will have a good period of sun followed by only isolated showers and thunderstorms. It’s going to feel very hot, with afternoon highs reaching the middle 90s. The heat index will be approaching 100 degrees.
An upper level low pressure system swirling in the Atlantic is projected to move over the southeast United State by mid-week. Showers and thunderstorms look to become more likely again on Tuesday and Wednesday. Each day we will have an increase in clouds, with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely. The good news is that rain chances look to remain elevated through the rest of the week. Have a great morning and be sure to join us on Fox 6 from 7-9AM for more details.
