The moisture in the atmosphere started increasing some yesterday, as we saw some cumulus clouds and a couple if isolated showers. Today, we have scattered thunderstorms developing over parts of central Alabama. With it being as hot as it is, almost any storm that forms can grow strong very quickly, producing lightning, and maybe hail and damaging winds. The good news is the clouds and storms are cooling the temperatures down for some people.
It looks like the atmosphere will stay more humid next week, meaning more scattered afternoon storms, and likely an easing of the heat.
