We're back under the influence of a pesky northwest flow. While this means a cooler weather pattern, it also means we have to watchout out for thunderstorm complexes that develop upstream and track toward Alabama. This afternoon we will have to monitor the weather for a few severe storms. This is not a tornado day, but storms capable of knocking trees and powerlines down will be possible. I'd expect winds over 50mph possible with a few storms as well as small hail. The Storm Prediction Center has placed at least part of the state within their "slight" risk.
The shaded in area indicates the primary threat is high winds.
I do think we'll see another round of storms late tonight - especially in East Alabama. These storms could again be severe producing high winds. Tuesday could be another stormy day. Stay with Fox 6 for updates.
