The day started off on a rocky note, with strong to severe storms over parts of the state. At this hour we are tracking spotty showers along the I-20 corridor. A cluster of heavier storms is located back across western Mississippi and this activity is drifting south-southeast. The rain shield associated with this activity could impact some of our western counties later today. The sky remains partly to mostly cloudy across the area and this is helping to hold down temperatures. Temperatures at are in the low to mid 80s.
