We've already had some gusty winds roll through Pickens and Tuscaloosa Counties this morning. Strong to severe storms continue to move eastward producing cloud to ground lightning, winds over 50mph, and heavy rain. Most of the wind reports we're seeing this morning are in the 20-30mph range with heavy rain.
After this first batch of rain and storms this morning - things should be quiet for a while. But - we're expecting another round of storms during the afternoon and evening. Some of these storms will be strong with the primary threat gusty winds and frequent lightning. Temperatures today will reach the mid to upper 80s through the afternoon hours.
Expect a very active weather pattern through Sunday and Monday. While I'm anticipating a washout - we'll see strong to severe storms in the forecast. The greatest threat for severe storms will remain south of I-20.
We'll keep you updated.
