Rain and storms will likely stay west of the area over the next several days. High pressure has a firm grip on the area. An upper-level low is bringing rain in Louisiana and Texas tonight. The system will track eastward, but is expected to weaken considerably. Friday and Saturday both will remain dry. Our RPM model is indicating scattered clouds tomorrow with rain remaining west. It's possible we could see a few showers south of Montgomery tomorrow afternoon.
A stronger system is expected to impact us next week. We'll see rain chances climb Sunday evening with a good chance of storms Monday. Rain and storms will likely linger through Tuesday with cooler air moving in by mid-week. You can see the position of the front by early Tuesday morning.
Behind the front, temperatures are likely to fall into the mid 50s for morning lows by Wednesday.
