Probably not the type of precipitation which will dominate the weather this week...but at least long range model does suggest some light snow with a blast of cold air coming south by next weekend. Of course, they probably will still have snow like this at Cloudmont in Northern Dekalb County which is where we shot the picture this week...but it will be of the man-made variety. Still it's fun for a day of skiing as Ace Photojournalist Mike Tucker is showing here. The bigger weather story will be the rain and thunderstorms which return Monday and Tuesday. There could be a threat for severe thunderstorms and possibly even a tornado but the greatest threat is well to our south. The biggest problem posed by this system in Central Alabama will be from the rain which could cause some flooding concerns and strong winds before, during and after the front passes our area. Then...here comes the cold. Time to strap on the skis...if you head for Cloudmont.
