The weather affects us all, but no one more than farmers. I recently had a sit down Mark Gooch who was one of 10 photographers from across the country selected to make pictures of these hard working men and women for use in a Super Bowl ad for Dodge Trucks. Four of his pictures were used in the final ad. The conversation certainly left me with a renewed appreciation for the men and women who work long hours to feed us all. But, it's not just the farmers who may be affected by the weather in the next 48-72 hours as we see a chance for strong-to-severe thunderstorms with the possibility for damaging winds and possibly even tornadoes especially in areas south of a line from Gainesville in Sumter county to Prattville to Phenix City. Much colder air, probably the coldest of the season will follow, moving south across the snow covered Plains and into the region by the end of next week.
Looks as if Spring may still be a ways off.
