Let me share an opinion and I hope I don't offend lovers of hot and muggy weather. I'm not much of a fan of our recent weather. But, I do love hot and not so muggy weather with a north breeze. Case in point - today's forecast. We're already seeing dew point temperatures in the mid to upper 50s.
Dew point is an excellent measure of comfort. When the dew point climbs above 65 degrees - the air feels pretty sticky. When the dew point climbs above 70 degree - it is miserable and when it's above 75 degrees you're pretty much ready to buy airline tickets to San Diego.
The forecast certainly isn't going to be cool this weekend, but with the lower dew point temperatures it is going to be much more comfortable. With the drier air in place, you'll be lucky to see a cloud in the sky. This is the view from our Fox6 Towercam this afternoon.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK: Expect the comfortable weather to continue through the weekend. We'll start the day Saturday with temperatures in the mid 60s and highs in the lower 90s. Sunday will be a bit warmer with highs reaching around 95 degrees. No rain is in the forecast locally. If you're heading to South Alabama or the Gulf Coast you'll have a better chance of running into some wet weather. While a beach trip will not be a washout, expect at least a few scattered showers and storms during the afternoon.
NEXT CHANCE FOR RAIN: I don't think we'll see a drop of rain in the forecast until during the afternoon on Wednesday. Rain chances will be around 30%. We'll also see some scattered storms on Thursday.
Have a great evening!
