8:30am radar snapshot:
3 DIFFERENT SIMULATED RADAR SNAPSHOTS FOR 8:30AM:
Overall, not bad but you can see that the model is clearly overdoing the intensity of the rain in Alabama. The placement is good but what about a few hours from now?
FUTURE MODEL DATA RADAR AROUND 1PM:
The NAM and the HRRR show showers impacting central Alabama while the RPM doesn't show that same picture. So what would you forecast for this afternoon? I'm going with a 30-40% chance for showers and perhaps a storm. I think most places will be dry and just mostly cloudy.
WHEN DOES EACH MODEL SHOW THE BEST CHANCE FOR RAIN IN CENTRAL ALABAMA?
*RPM shows Sunday morning
*NAM shows this evening and so does the HRRR
Overall, despite the moist flow and extensive cloud cover, I expect at times through Monday morning either isolated or widely scattered showers.
So yea, I am just not buying in on a lot of rain or widespread amounts of it this weekend.
Think I'll eat my words? lol We will see... ;)
Enjoy the day,
