Enjoy the weather through the first part of the weekend because it will be most comfortable and mainly dry.
On Sunday, we will be tracking a disturbance lifting northward across the Gulf that will increase moisture in Alabama and the chance for showers and storms south of I-20 during the afternoon hours.
If you are one that works outside or needs to get some things done in the yard outside, your best bet each day next week is to do it before 10AM. Storms will be scattered in nature each afternoon next week.
Precipitation is running above normal so far this month. Normally, Birmingham averages about 1" of rainfall and look how much rain has come down so far this month according to our weather watchers.
Long range data shows rainfall totals next week exceeding 1-2" on a widespread level. Locally, we could see much higher amounts and this concerns me since the ground is very saturated. Flooding could become an issue.
